Receding gums is one of the most common symptom of early periodontal disease and it can be experience by anyone at any age even with children. The most important in preventing receding gums to further progress into serious gum disease is to be aware and learn about gingivitis which is the the earliest and mildest form of periodontal disease and receding gums is its symptom.
As a patient you need to be aware of the changes that is happening inside your mouth such as if you feel some sensitivity with hot and cold, and if your gums bleed when you brush your teeth and also if your gums hurt when eating hard foods and if you have bad breath.
